In season 3 episode 7 (titled "Drumming up Cash") of Spike TV's "Auction Hunters", which aired in 2012, Mike was the on-camera "fireworks expert" going over some pyrotechnics related items that the show's hosts, Ton Jones and Allen Haff, found in a storage unit.
Mike worked behind the scenes on season 1 episode 3 of the Science Channel's "The Explosion Show" in 2019, in addition to playing another role as the "pyrotechnic expert" on The Learning Channel's (TLC) "99 Most Bizarre" in 2006, as well as for the world famous science YouTuber Veritasium, in "The Science of Fireworks" in 2023.
Each year around the 4th of July, Mike gives interviews for many Fireworks related articles and news broadcasts such as this Intersections LA article, a Fox 11 behind the scenes tour of the 2016 4th of July show at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as well as LA this Week in 2019, a behind the scenes special that Telemundo 52 did on Pyrotechnic Innovations in 2014, an article on Disney Fireworks, as well as articles in Forbes, Wired, Salon, Vice, LA Times, Red Orbit, Business Insider, and many more.
Mike, along with his fireworks pictures and videos, has been featured in many articles, textbooks, school reports, plays, and television productions, including his two page spread in the Guinness World Records book "Science & Stuff" in 2018. He even worked as the talent on a science and enginnering based TV pilot for the History Channel, in addition to consulting on various television programs and major motion pictures.
